One night, a piercing scream awakens her. Following the sound to the communal bathroom of a nearby apartment building, she encounters Jia, a desperate 17-year-old girl who has come to abandon her unborn child. Drawing from a lifetime of experience, Malbun helps Jia deliver the baby safely. However, unable to accept her reality, Jia leaves the newborn behind and flees. Faced with a crying, feverish infant fighting for its life, Malbun embarks on the longest journey of her life. With fading consciousness and a body barely able to take a step, she sets out to save the abandoned child.

People walk out of the store with shopping bags in both hands, their faces glowing with joy. The woman tries to enter the store too, but collides with someone rushing by and loses consciousness. She wakes up later in a pile of garbage outside the closed department store. Through a side door left open by mistake, she makes a sudden dash inside.
